Since January 2019 we’ve been running free workshops for migrants and refugees in Tottenham as part of Migrations: Harbour Europe. This has been possible thanks to support of Migrant Resource Centre, Haringey Welcome, Engine Room, Arts Council England and Haringey Festival of Learning.

Inspired by Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed, the sessions begin with simple theatre games, followed by exercises to facilitate storytelling, improvisation, physical and vocal exploration, personal creativity and expression. Participants will be working as an ensemble to create stories together, learning how to devise short performances, how to use voice, movement and language skills to gain in confidence.

The workshops take place at The Engine Room, a lovely community centre, 5 mins from Tottenham Hale.

WHEN: Mondays from April 8th 2019 (excluding bank holidays) 6.30-8.30PM

WHERE: The Engine Room, Unit A, Eagle Heights, Lebus St, London N17 9FU
