WINGS OF COURAGE

Wings of Courage is a participatory arts project by LegalAliens Theatre that brings together migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and local communities to share stories through creativity, performance and collective making.

At its heart, Wings of Courage is built on a simple idea: every story matters.

Participants are invited to share memories, reflections, hopes or experiences in any language and in whatever form feels comfortable—written, spoken, drawn, or through conversation. Each story is transformed into an origami bird, creating a growing installation where every folded wing represents a unique human journey.

As the project travels from community to community, hundreds—and eventually thousands—of individual stories come together to form a powerful collective artwork that celebrates courage, resilience and belonging.

LegalAliens Theatre works collaboratively with participants to transform personal narratives into artistic experiences. Stories may inspire theatre, movement, music, visual art, film or immersive installations, always with participants’ consent and ownership respected.

Rather than telling stories about communities, Wings of Courage creates opportunities for communities to tell their own stories in their own voices.

The project values every contribution, whether it is a single sentence, a drawing, a memory, or a lifetime of experiences.
